Procedure

  1. Removal:

    lift the edge with a flathead, squirt rubbing alcohol or water inside, twist and pull off.
  2. Installation:

    spray rubbing alcohol or hairspray inside the grip and on the bar, slide on quickly while wet, position correctly, let dry. Air dries to a tight bond.
  3. Removal:

    loosen the inner clamp bolt(s) and outer clamp bolt(s) (usually 2.5 or 3mm hex), slide off.
  4. Installation:

    slide on, position, tighten clamp bolts to spec (typically 4–5 Nm — over-torquing cracks aluminum grip clamps).

Push-on grips:

  • Removal: lift the edge with a flathead, squirt rubbing alcohol or water inside, twist and pull off.

Lock-on grips:

  • Removal: loosen the inner clamp bolt(s) and outer clamp bolt(s) (usually 2.5 or 3mm hex), slide off.
  • Installation: slide on, position, tighten clamp bolts to spec (typically 4–5 Nm — over-torquing cracks aluminum grip clamps).
