Deleting from the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Drais app itself. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Open the Drais app on your phone, tablet, or in the browser.
- Sign in if you are signed out.
- Tap Settings in the main menu.
- Open the Account section.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Review the deletion summary and tap Delete my account to confirm.
On confirmation, the data on your device is wiped immediately and a server-side deletion job is started that removes your data from our cloud infrastructure within the timeline noted below.
Deleting by email
If you no longer have access to the app — for example because you removed it or lost access to your sign-in method — email info@drais.app from the email address linked to your Drais account, and include:
- The email address you use to sign in to Drais.
- A short confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account and associated data.
We may ask one verification question to confirm the account is yours before processing the request. We respond within 30 days, and usually within a few business days.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently wiped from your device and from our servers:
- Bikes and components. All bikes and their parts.
- Parts and wear data. Component mileage, wear estimates, and service intervals.
- Maintenance history. Service logs, reminders, notes, and uploaded receipts.
- Rides. All rides recorded or imported into Drais, including GPS traces and summaries.
- Profile and settings. Display name, profile photo, language and unit preferences, notification preferences.
- Community content. Forum posts, replies, marketplace listings, and group ride participation.
- Chat messages. Direct messages and voice messages you have sent. Messages already received by others may remain in their conversation history on their device.
- Integrations. Strava and other connected services are unlinked; OAuth tokens are revoked and deleted.
- Uploaded media. Bike photos, component photos, profile photos, and any other media you have uploaded.
- Authentication. Your sign-in record is removed so the account can no longer be used.
What we retain, and why
A limited subset of information may be retained after deletion, only when we are legally required to do so or when it is necessary to keep the service safe and reliable for everyone:
- Anonymized or aggregated statistics. Statistics that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.
- Security and abuse records. If your account was involved in a security incident, fraud, or a breach of our terms, limited data (such as a hashed identifier and the reason) may be retained.
- Financial and legal records. Where law requires us to retain transaction data (for example marketplace payments, tax records, or contractual evidence).
- Encrypted backups. Your data may persist briefly after deletion in rotating encrypted backups. Backups expire as they rotate and are not used to restore deleted accounts.
None of the retained data is used for marketing, advertising, or profile building.
Deletion timeline
Data on your device is wiped at the moment you confirm deletion in the app. Account records and content on our servers are deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Encrypted backups expire as backups rotate, and no copy is retained beyond the periods described above unless legally required.
Deleting only specific data
You do not need to delete your entire account to wipe specific data. From within Drais you can:
- Delete individual bikes, components, rides, gear, and maintenance records.
- Delete individual chat messages and conversations.
- Delete or hide forum posts, replies, and marketplace listings you have created.
- Disconnect Strava and other integrations — we stop importing and stored tokens are revoked.
- Adjust your profile and privacy settings, including display name and photo.
Want us to delete a specific category of data on your behalf? Email info@drais.app and tell us what you want wiped.
After deletion
Once deletion is complete, your account can no longer be used to sign in. You are always welcome to create a new Drais account with the same or a different email address, but it will start empty — we cannot restore data from a deleted account.
