Account & data deletion

Delete your
account.

You can permanently delete your Drais account and all associated data directly from inside the app, or by emailing our support team. This page explains the steps, what gets deleted, what we have to keep, and how long server-side deletion takes.

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from the Drais app itself. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

  1. Open the Drais app on your phone, tablet, or web.
  2. Sign in if you are signed out.
  3. Tap Settings from the main menu.
  4. Open the Account section.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  6. Review the deletion summary and tap Delete My Account to confirm.

On confirmation, on-device data is purged immediately and a server-side deletion job removes your data from our cloud infrastructure within the timeline shown below.

02

Delete by email request

If you can't access the app — for example, you have uninstalled it or lost access to your sign-in method — email support@drais.app from the address associated with your Drais account and include:

  • The email address used to sign in to Drais.
  • A short statement that you wish to permanently delete your account and associated data.

We may ask one verification question to confirm you own the account before processing the request. We respond within 30 days, and typically within a few business days.

03

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from your device and from our servers:

  • Bikes and components. All bikes and their parts.
  • Parts and wear data. Component mileage, wear estimates, and service intervals.
  • Maintenance history. Service logs, reminders, notes, and uploaded receipts.
  • Rides. All rides recorded in Drais and rides imported from connected activity trackers, including GPS tracks and ride summaries.
  • Profile and settings. Display name, profile photo, language and unit preferences, notification preferences.
  • Community content. Forum posts, comments, marketplace listings, and group ride participation.
  • Chat messages. Direct messages and voice messages you have sent. Messages already received by other participants in their conversation history may persist on their devices.
  • Integrations. Strava and any other connected services are deauthorized; OAuth tokens are revoked and removed.
  • Uploaded media. Bike photos, parts photos, profile photos, and any other media you uploaded.
  • Authentication. Your sign-in record (email and identity providers) is removed so the account can no longer be used.

What we keep, and why

A small amount of information may be retained after deletion, only where we are legally required or where it is necessary to keep the service safe and reliable for everyone:

  • Anonymized or aggregated metrics. Statistics that no longer identify you (for example, total rides recorded across all users) may be retained indefinitely.
  • Security and abuse records. If your account was associated with a security incident, fraud, or a violation of our terms, limited records (such as a hashed identifier and the reason) may be retained to prevent re-registration and protect other users.
  • Financial and legal records. Where applicable law requires us to keep transaction records (for example, marketplace payments, tax records, or contractual evidence), we keep only the minimum data required, for the period required by law.
  • Encrypted backups. Your data may persist in rolling encrypted backups for a short period after deletion. Backups expire as backups rotate and are not used to restore deleted accounts.

None of the retained data is used for marketing, advertising, or profile-building.

Deletion timeline

On-device data
Purged immediately on confirmation
Server & backup data
Purged within 30 days

On-device data is wiped the moment you confirm the deletion in the app. Account records and content stored on our servers are deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Encrypted backups expire as backups rotate, and no copy is retained beyond the periods described above unless required by law.

06

Delete only some data

You don't need to delete your whole account to remove specific data. From inside Drais you can:

  • Delete individual bikes, parts, rides, gear, and maintenance entries.
  • Delete individual chat messages and conversations.
  • Delete or hide forum posts, comments, and marketplace listings you created.
  • Disconnect Strava and other integrations so we stop importing new activities and revoke stored tokens.
  • Edit your profile and privacy settings, including display name and photo.

If you'd like us to delete a specific category of data on your behalf, email support@drais.app and tell us what you want removed.

07

After deletion

Once deletion completes, your account can no longer be used to sign in. You are welcome to create a new Drais account at any time using the same or a different email address, but it will start empty — we cannot restore data from a deleted account.

For more on how Drais handles personal data, see our Privacy Policy. Questions or concerns can always go to support@drais.app.

Need to delete now
