Topping Up Tubeless Sealant

Sealant dries up over 2–6 months depending on climate. Wet climates last longer; dry/hot ones evaporate fast.

Difficulty ☆☆ easy
Time ~5 min
Applies to Bikes with tubeless tires

Tools

  • Standard workshop tools

Procedure

  1. Position the wheel

with the valve at the 6 o'clock position.
  2. Deflate the tire fully.

  3. Unscrew the valve core

    with a valve core remover.
  4. Inject 30–60 ml fresh sealant

through the valve using a sealant injector.
  5. Reinstall the valve core.

  6. Inflate

and rotate the wheel to distribute sealant. > Some riders prefer to peel the bead at one point and pour sealant into the tire directly — gives more accurate dosing but requires re-seating. The valve method is faster. ---
